This will be an in-depth discussion on the management of specific intraoperative complications with an interactive format between panelists and the audience.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Recognize several techniques to manage pelvic bleeding, anastamotic disruption, trocar injuries, and stapler malfunctions.
  • Evaluate when to persist, when to consider damage control, and when to ask for assistance in the setting of intraoperative complications.
  • Verify that intraoperative complications are ubiquitous and approaching them safely is key.
