The multidisciplinary management of rectal cancer is rapidly evolving. While recent trials have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of novel treatment paradigms, there is ongoing debate regarding the optimal treatment for patients with early and advanced rectal cancer. This case-based panel discussion will review current management strategies for rectal cancer focusing on neoadjuvant treatment regimens, organ preservation, and the role for local excision.
