The need for strong leadership exists throughout colorectal surgery. This symposium will explore leadership skills essential for success and will also explore leadership opportunities that exist and review the rationale for why you might want to seek out these types of opportunities.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Identify various opportunities and paths to leadership roles in a private practice setting.
Recognize essential communication skills utilized by successful leaders.
Identify pathways to leadership advancement within a major health system and how active involvement in surgical societies fosters the development of leadership skills.
