David W. Dietz, MD is Chief of Colorectal Surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Vice President of System Surgery Quality at University Hospitals, and Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and completed both General Surgery Residency and Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Dietz’s main clinical interests are reoperative abdominal and pelvic surgery, redo pelvic pouch surgery, locally-advanced and recurrent rectal cancer, and continent ileostomy surgery. He is a founder and member of the Executive Committee of the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC). Dr. Dietz was recently awarded a master’s degree in healthcare delivery science from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and Geisel School of Medicine.
