As an undergraduate, he studied integrative biology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Ferrara earned his medical degree at the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee. He completed his general surgery residency at Brookwood Baptist Health program in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Ferrara also served as academic chief resident in his final year. He performed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. He then joined the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando, becoming a partner in 2022 before merging with Orlando Health to form their Colon and Rectal Institute. He currently serves as the Program Director for the Orlando Health Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at both the University of Central Florida and Florida State University Colleges of Medicine.
