Dr. Joseph Terlizzi is board certified in general and colorectal surgery, and is Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He owns his surgical practice, Laser Surgery Care, in New York City. Dr. Terlizzi graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, trained in general surgery at Saint Vincent’s in Manhattan and Rutgers University, and returned to Thomas Jefferson University for specialty training in colon and rectal surgery. He received numerous awards for research, academic excellence and teaching, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Terlizzi serves on the board of the International Anal Neoplasia Society. He is the principal investigator for multiple clinincal trials involving the management of anal cancer and precancerous anal lesions, and has published extensively in the field of anal neoplasia.
