Jeremie Lever, MD, PhD is a general surgery resident and surgeon scientist trainee at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is performing a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Karin Hardiman studying the role of aberrant glycosylation in rectal cancer and how this contributes to neoadjuvant treatment resistance, invasion, and metastasis. Additionally, he is performing health services research under the mentorship of Robert Hollis and the Colorectal Surgery faculty at UAB. Jeremie plans to hold a career in academic colorectal surgery, to see patients and lead a research program. His mission for his research is to improve the quality of life and survival for patients with colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
