Dr. Brian Williams, MD is currently a senior resident at the University of Southern California general surgery training program. He is a native of New England and grew up in central Connecticut. He attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his bachelor's degree in biological sciences. Before starting medical school he spent 4 years working in healthcare and research roles in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area, which culminated in a position as a teaching assistant in the chemistry department at the American University. He then completed his medical education at the Boston University School of Medicine, where his interest in surgery was cultivated. After completing his medical degree in 2018 he joined the general surgery training program at the University of Southern California.
During training he has developed an interest is in colon and rectal surgery and plans to pursue a colorectal surgery fellowship after completion of his general surgery training, with a specific interest in minimally invasive approaches to early stage colon and rectal cancers. He is a resident member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and has developed a passion for surfing since moving to the west coast.
