Howard University Hospital
Washington, DC, United States
My name is Miriannie Rivera-Valerio, MD MS and I am a second-year General Surgery Resident at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. I was born in the Dominican Republic and completed my schooling in the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico where I obtained a Master's in Medical Sciences and my Medical Doctor degree both from Ponce Health Sciences University. I have been interested in the complex field of Colorectal surgery since my time in medical school. The variety of cases, their different degrees of complexity, and the advancement in technologies applied to this amazing subspecialty have lured me into making it my specialty of choice for fellowship training. I hope to one day become one of the many other driven, talented, and amazing Colorectal surgeons and take my talents back to Puerto Rico to serve the community that helped me achieve my goals.
