Atziri Rubio-Chavez, MD.
Atziri Rubio-Chavez is a Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, and earned her degree from the University of Guadalajara. She moved to the United States to pursue a career in academic surgery and completed a research fellowship in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is also a member of the Safe Surgery, Safe Systems team at Ariadne Labs, part of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Rubio's research focuses on interventions to improve the quality of life in colorectal patients undergoing surgery requiring a colostomy, as well as optimizing the health of senior adults in the perioperative period. Concurrently, she is involved in an initiative to enhance support and reduce burnout for pregnant medical trainees.
