St. Joseph Medical Center General Surgery Residency
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health St. Joseph Medical Center
Tacoma, WA, United States
Erik Domas, MD, is currently a second-year resident in general surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Throughout his residency, he has been fortunate to learn from Dr. Shalini Kanneganti, the Associate Program Director at his program and a prominent colorectal surgeon in Washington State. Erik's focus lies in both benign and malignant colorectal pathology.
In addition to this and several other post presentations, he is dedicated to education of fellow residents and other medical professionals. Alongside his fellow resident, Dr. Kiefer Starks, and mentor Dr. Kanneganti, Erik co-authored a chapter in the colorectal surgery edition of Surgical Clinics of North America. This chapter delves into the updated guidelines for the current management of diverticulitis. In the future, he hopes to pursue a colorectal surgery fellowship and establish a practice in the Pacific Northwest.
