Frédéric is a third-year general surgery resident at McGill University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Clinical Epidemiology under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence Lee. His goal is to help improve the perioperative experience of patients. His research aims to explore the financial impact of colorectal surgeries on patients (resulting from uncovered medical expenses, lost productivity, etc.), an aspect of surgical care that has been poorly described so far. He is also interested in exploring how understanding the financial implications of treatment alternatives can then influence patients’ medical decisions. His aim is to help shared decision-making between doctors and patients by portraying the full implications and effects a surgery can have on someone’s life.
