Kelly Brennan MSc MD PGY3 was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. She completed her medical education at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia on the Canadian East Coast. She was ecstatic to return to Queen’s University in Ontario for residency training after thoroughly enjoying her time in Kingston previously during graduate studies. She previously completed a MSc in epidemiology with foci in analysis of large datasets and evaluating cancer care at the population-level. Kelly was drawn to general surgery early in her clinical training because of the acuity in patient presentations and immediate impact in surgical management. She highly values the teamwork required and the opportunity to be with patients during dire moments. She is passionate about a surgeon's role in cancer care and is planning on pursuing subspecialty training in colorectal surgery and continuing her current research endavours. In her spare time, she can be found riding horses and spending time with her family, friends and two dogs.
