Dr. Ahmad Abu Amr is a surgery resident with a passion for colorectal and minimally invasive/robotic surgery. He completed an AGCMEI residency at Hamad Hospital, Qatar, affiliated with Weill Cornell.
He then moved to the United States to be closer to family and is currently in his third year of general surgery residency at USF Morsani Brandon Hospital, having completed his intern year at Texas Tech El Paso.
Throughout his training, Dr. Abu Amr has actively participated in major conferences like ASCRS, ACS, and TQIP to expand his knowledge and skills. He finds immense satisfaction in performing minimally invasive and robotic procedures due to their benefits for patient recovery.
With a multicultural background spanning multiple countries and institutions, Dr. Abu Amr brings a diverse perspective to his work. His research interests align with advancing the field of colorectal surgery through academic inquiry and innovation.
After graduating from residency, he aims to pursue a colorectal surgery fellowship to further specialize in his area of passion. Dr. Abu Amr is driven by witnessing the positive impact surgeries can have on improving patients' lives.
