Dr. Fernández graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine (2004-2011), where she completed her surgical training (2011-2016). In 2014, she received a travel fellowship from the Brazilian Society of Colorectal Surgery under the supervision of Dr. Angelita Habr-Gama and Dr. Perez. She completed a research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida under the supervision of Dr. Wexner. After joining the Champalimaud Foundation in 2018, Dr. Fernández has focused her clinical and research activities on the management of colorectal cancer. She currently serves as a reviewer for several scientific surgical and oncology journals, and recently joined the Reviewers' Guild Editorial Board of Diseases of The Colon and Rectum.
