William J. Harb, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The University of Tennessee, Nashville, and a colorectal surgeon at The Colorectal Center in Nashville. He is a board-certified colorectal surgeon, specializing in the treatment of diseases of the colon and rectum. Dr. Harb’s specialty includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases of the colon and rectum as well as the management of anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and anal fistulas.
Upon attaining his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, he elected to stay there for his general surgery training. After leaving Memphis, Dr. Harb completed a fellowship at the renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He subsequently completed a colorectal surgery fellowship in Pittsburgh. He has been in private practice in Nashville since 2006. Dr. Harb’s work has been published in national journals and he has presented his research nationally. He is an Associate Editor of Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, an Associate Examiner of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and heads up the new ASCRS Community and Private Practice Group.
