Steven Fassler, MD is a private practice colon and rectal surgeon in Abington Pennsylvania. He is Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Abington Hospital –Jefferson Health and is part of the core faculty for the general surgery residency. He is the president-elect of the Abington Hospital medical staff. He is also the medical director of the Abington Hospital endoscopy center. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He has been honored with multiple teaching awards during his career and is very proud that many of the graduating residents have gone on to become colorectal surgeons. Together with his partners and the residents, Dr Fassler has published primarily on clinical outcomes in all aspects of colorectal surgery. Dr Fassler is a past president of the Pennsylvania Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and has served on multiple committees for the ASCRS. He is part of the faculty for the Surgical Leadership Initiative. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children skiing and participating in triathlons.
