Kerri Lopez is a Colon & Rectal Surgery fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. She will be starting as faculty in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the University of Maryland this fall. She is interested in translational research involving the microbiome, the colonic epithelium, diet, and the immune system. Specifically, she would like to advance the understanding of how these factors influence inflammation and anastomotic healing, and hopes to use this knowledge to develop novel materials and interventions.
