Michael Consul is a second year medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and works with the Colorectal Research Unit at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He has previously conducted research on gram negative anaeorbic microorganisms at the Abel-Santos lab at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and also worked as a firefighter paramedic for the City of Henderson Fire Department in Nevada, as a critical care flight paramedic for the United States Army Nevada National Guard, and as a tactical paramedic for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He is interested in surgical critical care, colorectal cancer, and the management of emergent colorectal conditions.
