Thomas Peponis, MD, is a Colon and Rectal Surgeon at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA. Dr. Peponis earned his Medical Degree from the University of Athens School of Health Sciences, Athens, Greece. He completed General Surgery residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. Subsequently, he completed a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Currently, Dr. Peponis specializes in Colon and Rectal Surgery at UMass Memorial Health and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. He has a particular interest in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, anorectal disease, and advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques including robotic surgery.
