Richard is currently a fellow in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Prior to this, he completed residency in General Surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. During his training, he was supported by both federal (CIHR) and provincial (FRQS) salary awards to complete a Master's in Clinical Epidemiology and PhD in Surgical Outcomes focusing on gastrointestinal recovery and bowel function after surgery for colorectal cancer. His primary clinical and research interests are rectal cancer and diverticulitis. Richard will be joining on faculty at McGill University as a Colon and Rectal Surgeon at the Jewish General Hospital in September 2024.
