Matthew Jacobsson, DO is a fourth year general surgery resident at St Joeseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA (affiliated with Virginia Mason). Matthew is most recently from the Pacific Northwest US, but draws upon his childhood living in East Africa as motivation and desire for pursuing surgery with aspirations to someday serve in the developing world again. He attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and now is completing his general surgery residency in Tacoma, WA. He has professional interests in minimally invasive surgery, residency education, and global health.
