Yosef Nasseri, MD, FACS, FACRS

Yosef Nasseri, MD., FACS, FASCRS, is one of the founding partners of The Surgery
Group of Los Angeles. He is double board-certified in general and colorectal
surgery, specializing in robotic and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment
of colon and rectal diseases; including inflammatory bowel disease, as well as
malignant and benign colorectal diseases. He is also a leader in state-of-the-art
treatment of hemorrhoids, pilonidal disease and various anorectal pathologies.
In addition to a high clinical volume, Dr. Nasseri is very active in clinical research
and academia. He regularly collaborates with surgeons and physicians from diverse
specialties, conducting multiple prospective and retrospective research projects
with the support of a dedicated research staff and the backing of The Surgery
Group of Los Angeles’s research foundation. Dr. Nasseri’s research is primarily
outcomes based, with a concentration on both benign and malignant colorectal
diseases. He has mentored more than 35 research students and paved their way to
acceptance to medical schools.
Through this work, Dr. Nasseri has published numerous peer reviewed
manuscripts, book chapters, journal articles, and presented at various conferences.
Dr. Nasseri holds various prestigious national surgical positions. He is a Governor
of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is a leader and committee chair at
American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), President of the
Southern California Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Committee Chair at
Southwestern Surgical Congress (SWSG), a member at The Consortium for
Optimizing the Treatment of Rectal Cancer (OSTRiCh), and a committee member
at Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He also serves on
various committees at prestigious Cedars Sinai Hospital over a span of several
years.
