Dr. Stefano cardelli, MD, graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome in 2018. Specialized in general surgery in 2023, focusing on colon and rectal surgery, with an emphasis on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and rectal cancer. During residency, honed expertise in colorectal laparoscopic and open procedures, spending significant time in high-volume centers in Emilia Romagna, including the Bologna Alimentary Tract Surgery Unit, under the mentorship of Prof. Gilberto Poggioli. Often engaged in research and education, I improved my skills thanks to a research fellowship in Mayo Clinic Florida under the mentorship of Prof. Luca Stocchi. Today, I am actively involved in robotic IBD and colorectal cancer procedures with a particular focus on the development of new platforms under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Rottoli.
