I am a general surgery resident currently conducting clinical/translational research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center under the guidance of Dr. J Joshua Smith within the Colorectal Surgery Department. I am interested in completing a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at the completion of my residency in July of 2027. My goal is to become a physician scientist helping to lead the field with new advancements. I also have a strong interest in Global Surgery, and would like to dedicate time to serving those communities most in need.
During my time at MSKCC, I have collaborated on projects with significant clinical impact on the Colorectal Surgical field including but not limited to organizing an online rectal cancer organoid database, monitoring circulating tumor DNA levels in patients with anal cancer treated with definitive chemoradiation, utilizing patient input in tailoring rectal cancer trial design, and evaluating the effect of short course/long course radiation on organ preservation in rectal cancer.
